There
might not be a better time to fish Montana than the month
of April. Winter has released its icy grip and the torrent
of spring runoff has not yet arrived.
Travel with us across
Southwestern Montana in search of prolific spring hatches,
fearless trout, and uncrowded waters.
Rivers that we might
visit include the: Big Hole, Beaverhead, Poindexter Slough,
Ruby, Missouri, Madison, Yellowstone, Gallatin, and the
Paradise Valley Spring Creeks, just to name a few.
Each day brings a new river, different strategies, a variety
of water, and ever-changing weather conditions.
Weather
is the largest factor affecting fishing in the spring. We
might find ourselves fishing a monster baetis hatch in a
blizzard on the Madison one day and a bountiful midge emergence
on the Spring Creeks in sunshine the next.
This
first class trip includes four days of guided fishing, spring
creek fees, all meals, lodging, and transportation. All
you need to do is arrive at the Bozeman airport with your
gear and we will take it from there.
These trips have been
a tremendous success as well as tons of fun. We are eagerly
awaiting this upcoming spring.
Over the past six years these trips have become very popular. So popular, in fact, that our dates have spread from the last week in March through the month of June! Each year we push out into new and exciting times and fishing situations. This year we’re excited to offer the longest set of dates and the broadest variety of fishing yet.
